Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and the operator of rolebud.ai ("RoleBud", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the website at rolebud.ai and all associated features, tools, and services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from doing so under applicable law.

To access most features you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with any third party.
• Notify us immediately at anonymousthomas10@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts at our sole discretion, including for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or any activity we deem harmful to the Service or other users.

4.1 Free plan

The Service is available at no charge under a Free plan with usage limits as described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to modify Free plan limits at any time.

4.2 Pro plan

The Pro plan is a paid subscription with higher usage limits. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method through our payment processor, Razorpay, on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected) until you cancel. All charges are non-refundable except as expressly stated in Section 4.4 or as required by applicable law.

4.3 Price changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase. Your continued subscription after the new price takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new price.

4.4 Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain Pro access until then. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods, unused credits, or unused AI generations. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days of the charge.

4.5 Taxes

Prices displayed may not include applicable taxes. You are responsible for all taxes associated with your subscription where applicable (e.g. GST, VAT).

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Upload or transmit content that is false, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, or harmful to others.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits (e.g. creating multiple accounts to exceed free-tier limits).
• Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or other tools to access the Service without our prior written consent.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems.
• Use AI-generated outputs to misrepresent your qualifications to employers in a fraudulent manner.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercialise any part of the Service without our written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate this section.

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate cover letters, interview answers, career advice, and job feed summaries. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content is provided for informational and assistive purposes only. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific situation.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any AI-generated content before submitting it to an employer or using it in any context.
• RoleBud makes no representation or warranty that AI-generated content will result in employment, interviews, callbacks, or any other outcome.
• RoleBud is not a staffing agency, recruiter, or employment service. We do not guarantee job placements, introductions to employers, or any employment outcomes.
• AI models may occasionally produce outputs that are factually incorrect, outdated, biased, or otherwise unsuitable. You bear all risk from relying on such outputs.
• You must not submit AI-generated content as your own original work in any context where that would constitute fraud, plagiarism, or academic misconduct.

7.1 Your ownership

You retain all ownership rights in the content you provide to the Service, including your CV/résumé, writing samples, chat messages, and any other materials ("Your Content").

7.2 Licence to RoleBud

By uploading or submitting Your Content, you grant RoleBud a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service for you. This licence does not permit us to sell Your Content to third parties or use it to train AI models for purposes unrelated to your personal use of the Service.

7.3 Your representations

You represent and warrant that: (a) you have the right to submit Your Content; (b) Your Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; and (c) Your Content complies with these Terms.

Job listings displayed in the Service are aggregated from publicly available sources, including company career pages and job boards. RoleBud does not create, verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any job listing. Job listings may be out of date, inaccurate, or no longer active. You should independently verify any job listing before applying. RoleBud is not responsible for any outcome resulting from your application to a job listed on the Service.

We are not affiliated with any employer, job board, or ATS provider (including Greenhouse, Lever, or Ashby). Mention of these platforms is purely for functional reference.

The Service and all of its content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to the RoleBud name, logo, codebase, UI designs, and all text, graphics, and software — are owned by RoleBud and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

AI-generated outputs (cover letters, interview answers, career coaching responses) that are generated for you based on your inputs are provided to you for your personal use. You are free to use, edit, and submit them as you see fit, subject to Section 6.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROLEBUD EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
• ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES.
• ANY WARRANTY REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, COMPLETENESS, OR TIMELINESS OF ANY CONTENT, JOB LISTINGS, OR AI-GENERATED OUTPUT.
• ANY WARRANTY THAT USE OF THE SERVICE WILL RESULT IN EMPLOYMENT OR ANY OTHER SPECIFIC OUTCOME.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ROLEBUD, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OFFICERS, OR DIRECTORS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY:

• INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES;
• LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES;
• COSTS OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES;
• ANY LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT;
• ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR FAILURE TO OBTAIN EMPLOYMENT OR A JOB OFFER;

WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ROLEBUD HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN ALL CASES, ROLEBUD'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ROLEBUD IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM; OR (B) USD 10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RoleBud and its operators, affiliates, licensors, service providers, employees, agents, officers, and directors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgements, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your violation of these Terms;
• Your Content, including any claim that Your Content infringes a third party's rights;
• Your use of the Service or AI-generated outputs;
• Any misrepresentation you make to an employer or third party using content generated by the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 of these Terms survive termination.

You may delete your account at any time via the Settings page. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — you must cancel your subscription separately before deleting your account to avoid further charges.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. You irrevocably submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at anonymousthomas10@gmail.com and attempt to resolve the matter informally. We will try to resolve the dispute within 30 days.

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.

• Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and RoleBud regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
• No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision will not be deemed a waiver of that right or provision.
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
• Force majeure: We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, third-party service failures, or acts of God.
• No employment relationship: Nothing in these Terms creates any employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and RoleBud.
